Two South Carolina Catering Businesses Come Together to Give to Homeless at Christmas

Christmas is a time of giving, and two different catering companies in Hopkins, South Carolina went the extra mile this year to spread joy to those in need. Darlene Shiver of Mama’s Kreative Treats and her cousin Keya Sims, who own separate catering companies, cooked and delivered hot meals to Homeless No More on Saturday with the hope of bringing Christmas cheer to all.

Darlene Shiver and Keya Sims have a mission to help those in need in their community, and on Saturday they chose to serve the homeless at Homeless No More, as they have a special connection to the organization and its clients. With the closure of Finlay Park, where Sims donated meals last year, the two cooks chose another location to continue their ongoing tradition of giving back.

The special meal served by two women-owned businesses included a variety of food, giving the homeless a hot meal to enjoy on Christmas day. Cooking from the heart, Keya Sims says that’s what makes it so delicious. The two catering businesses plan on making this a yearly tradition, and invite anyone else who would like to join their mission of spreading Christmas cheer.
